The non-profit "kitchen without borders" was founded by chefs from Zurich in 2005. Without funding from the government they built restaurants in conflict areas, which are used as cultural exchange points and then, after around 3 years are handed over completely to local non profit organizations. Apart from the catering of good food, the social aspect of a meeting point for the locals is very important for its founders.
