WITH HIS FEET ON THE GROUND
Documentary, 2016, 82 min
Directed by Ede Müller
The film focuses on the Colombian musician and artist León Octavio Osorno and his band Campo y Sabor. León Octavio is a motivator who has been working on environmental and peace issues for over 40 years and has always used his artistic work to raise awareness and sensitize his audience.
The film follows León Octavio and Campo y Sabor for more than two years. We delve into the diverse world of León Octavio, experience “gastro-phonic” concerts by Campo y Sabor, and learn about the band members’ living conditions as small farmers. The course of the peace negotiations between the government and the FARC guerrillas, which came to a successful end in the fall of 2016, serves as an overarching frame story for the film, and so the film also reflects the current political situation in Colombia.
