THE LOBE BLOCK
The Lobe Block is a spectacular terraced building by architect Arno Brandlhuber, which opened in summer 2018 and attracted a lot of attention from the architectural world. Home to fashion labels, architects, start-ups, and artists, the studio building also aims to be a social and sustainable space for the neighborhood. Despite many offers for the neighborhood, the Lobe project attracts opponents who see the existing living conditions in the neighborhood being threatened. That is why the building is also called a “gentrification UFO.” The film sheds light on the concerns of the Lobe makers, listens in on the neighborhood, and makes different living realities visible against the background of a rapidly developing city.
